Welcome to Ring 175
Welcome to Ring 175!With more than 300 Rings (or clubs) of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, we are proud to have a magically strong, fun and talented group of magicians here in Tampa…and we welcome you to Ring 175!
· Why Ring 175?
Everyone joins a “club” for different reasons, but we assume that you have some form of love for magic! That may be collecting, learning, showing, watching or performing. You may like close-up, stage, illusions, cards, coins, silks, ropes, or some other facet of our art; whatever it is – we are glad to have you!
· What makes it important for you to attend monthly meetings?
Look, we realize that if you go to your computer and type in “Magic” or “Card Trick” or “How to do a magic trick” or anything along those lines, you will be busy for hours upon hours – you don’t need a magic club for that. But once you get involved with magic, you quickly realize the only people who can appreciate what you’ve accomplished are other magicians. Every meeting, there are hundreds of years of experience and knowledge in the room with you! We try to find a “theme” for the meeting, but we just want you to feel welcomed to join us and hopefully share a bit with us.
· What should you expect…and what do we expect from you?
You can come to the meeting to simply watch some fun magic and see some familiar faces. That’s fine, there is room in Ring 175 for those who appreciate the magic without actively performing or participating. However, this club is certainly a tremendous resource for all of our members on many levels -- the club exists not just “for” the members, but rather “because of” our members. We need members who enjoy watching…but we hope you will be willing to share and participate. We hope you will learn something new…but we also hope that you will be comfortable teaching a trick as well. We hope you might be inspired after a meeting to take your magic up a notch…we are loaded with resources and knowledge, and if you let others know what you want to accomplish or do – they can help, So, plan to share, participate, make friends, learn something, have fun, and enjoy the magic!
